war toys / practice tape 2-2-84 /

 war toys - practice tape 2-2-84 (tape c60 s/s self-released)
usually im gonna try to post only stuff with more info possible..here i should buy the Ian Glasper's anarchopunk book but i don't have any money to spend...(20 euro for an anarchopunk book it should be for free..). They were from North Devon and they belong to the anarchopunk scene. This tape is amazing...yea i like it a lot...Anarchopunk is really cool when they weren't play punk stuff but they experiments with other genre (just to think about Hit Parade, Annie Anxiety, This Bitter Lesson or Youth in Asia ..few names). War Toys were a charming post-punk band, great melodies and such emotional...They use a lot of melanconic guitar riff...and anthemic vocals in a goth way. 'Pain and Strife' is one of that track i could listen to death. And 'Pandean Pipedream'? the same...amazing..They remind me some U.S. skate-band with post-punk touch..(mc rad - weakness..sort of)...I will call this stuff Romantic-Anarchopunk...

seite A: 1. Pain and Strife, 2. The Short War, 3. Great Escape, 4. Pandean Pipedream, 5. Where's the Logic, 6. Golden Gate, 7. Unexcusable Situation, 8. In Perspective, 9. Outcry

find the tape here.

body & the buildings / st / 1982

body & the buildings - body and the buildings (tape 1982 Heute mc 82092 st)
from Altusried , Bayern this is I believe their second tape (the first is 1981).
The members should be Richy Richter (drums, vocals), Manfred Faltin (guitar, vocals) and Faller (bass) [maybe also Schorch Vorgessen but i'm not sure]. The sound is changed from the dull punk first tape, in better. This is one of the few german bands that's got an international sound...they sounds like an english or an american band. This tape's got a straight post-punk attitude. Minimal and emotional song structure on a solid bass-drum rhythm ground fixed with existentialism / asocial lyrics. Fresh post-punk, simple but straight!

seite A: 1. This is normal they say, 2. Keep you down
seite B: 1. Dance dance, 2. Another song, 3. Empty faces, 4. No Voices

you can find the tape over this holy-grail blog.

K.U.K.L. / À Paris 14.9.84 / 1985

 K.U.K.L. - A' Paris 14-9-84 (tape july 1985 V.I.S.A. rf 003)
Cassette of the live concert by K.U.K.L. at Eldorado, Paris, France on September 14, 1984.

For those who doesn't know..K.U.K.L. was a band from Reykjavík, Iceland, and was one of the first band of now worldwide famous Bjork (previously also in Tappi Tíkarrass). The band released 2 lps for the CRASS records and the first single in 1983 for Gramm (Iceland's post-punk label). This tape was recorded live, distributed by the french tape (mostly) label V.I.S.A. (cat. Rebel Flux 003). This tape is great. It's 40 minutes of concert, they played all their songs recorded on vinyls, angry post-punk, always so articulated, dissonant, that couldn't be simply described as punk even if the angry strenght is the same. Think about a strange mix of B52's and UK Decay...

seite A: 1.Seagull, 2. Moonbath, 3. Gibraltar (Copy Thy Neighbour), 4. France (A Mutual Thrill), 5. Greece (Just By The Book), 6. The Spire
seite B: 1.Anna, 2. Dismembered, 3. Vials of Wrath, 4. Latent, 5. Pökn For Beginners
(members: Björk Guðmundsdóttir (vocals), Einar Örn Benediktsson (vocals, trumpett), Guðlaugur Kristinn Óttarsson (guitar), Birgir Mogensen (bass), Einar Arnaldur Melax (keyboards), Sigtryggur Baldursson (drums))

The tape could be found on the cool Kill Your Pet Puppy blog, as two mp3 side 1 and 2.

various / canoë 1 / c40 / 1983

various artists - Canoë 1 (fanzine 25 sheet A4 + compilation tape c40) (year: 1983)
I'm gonna to present you the number 1 of the french cassette-magazine Canoë. As you can see is composed by a black box with inside the fanzine's sheet and the tape.

I've found also that there was different cover of the k7..

This one is very different from the other (that has mainly the same graphic but a different picture) and i found it on ebay...the user is selling the tape-only...without the box and the fanzine.

This is the inner sleve of the tape with the tracklist:
seite A: 1.Clair Obscur - Froh, 2.Un Department - Kumul part.I, 3. Lucrate Milk - Nepla Relou, 4. The Tempest - Lady Left This, 5. The Tempest - Hey Sister, 6. Ring Andersen - Sex Sexy Banzai
seite B: 1.Un Department - Kumul part. II, 2. Lucrate Milk - La Cloche, 3. Lucrate Milk - Stab Your Back, 4. Lucrate Milk - Cancer L'Amour, 5. The Tempest - Obscenity, 6. Clair Obscur - Dead End, 7. Clair Obscur - Hibernation
You can find this tape ripped here on Art of Losing blog.
The Clair Obscur 's stuff is very nice, obscure dark post-punk in a classic way: 'Froh' is an inedited track, 'Dead End' could be found also inside the 'Ritual Dos Sadicos' comp. tape and 'Hibernation' on their first tape 'Cassette Noir' ...maybe not so original stuff but a very pleased listen. Un Department were from Orleans (Loiret), we found here two tracks, part I and II, recorded live..very different from their vinyl stuff(minimalsynth art/rock in a residentesque way), these tracks are sick slow post-punk, angry and frightening. The Tempest was one of the many projects of the english (Northampton, London) Alex Novax (in bands also with Venus Fly Trap, Religious Overdose and many others)...i don't  like a lot these tracks...too much rock for me...Then there's, as the cover say, special guest, Ring Anderson, with a nice synth-pop song. Last but not least..Lucrate Milk (from Paris)...that's one of my favourite band ever...with 4 killer tracks live, no-wavy art-punk stuff. demented and genius at the same time..

Other issue of  Canoë were:
- Canoë zero : k7 with bela kis, crimee, odessa swing, souvenir de paris, latin go
- Canoë Video Tape
included video from Lucrate Milk, Latin Go, Clair Obscur, Un Departement, Nini Raviolette, Venise, Orchestre Rouge
- Canoë 2 (no info found)
 - Canoë 3 (fanzine 60 sheet A4 + compilation tape) (year: april 1985)

on the scanned artwork of the canoë 1 posted by Art of Losing, Canoë talked about 2 really obscure tape:
- various - when the dixie stars are playing peek a boo (c60, 15 tracks, camera obscura)
amazingly is added on discogs database
- various - jojo's tape axe i (c30, 12 tracks)
with 3 bands from bremen: Foltergarde, Guki and Jojo...
